The End

Federal Agent Carol Danvers meets with Maisie Barnes.

Carol:  Are you going to deny any of this?  Your family, their possible ties to organized crime?  I know the incident at the dam is not related to any of this, but I find it alarming that you've moved into town and cozied up to the mayor.

Maisie:  I have nothing to do with my birth family.  I don't even know how my mother keeps getting my phone number to harass me every time she gets in trouble.  I suspect she was involved with the fire back in the day, but beyond that I know nothing about that place or those people.  And as for cozying up to the mayor, I've known Rose-Grace since I was a kid.  I'm only here because I promised Dionne I'd help with Helena House and I'll be gone as soon as my husband is stationed stateside.  You don't need to worry about me.

Carol:  Just know you're cleared on this dam business, but I'm going to be watching you.

*****

After Maisie leaves, Carol meets with a motley crew.

Hank:  I don't believe we've met.  I'm Hank Higgins, realtor.

Gage: I'm a private investigator.  I hope this meeting has something to do with my job because I just keep hitting dead ends.

Gage:  Good afternoon, Mrs. Smith.  I hope your presence means Agent Danvers is going to help me find your father.

Pocahontas:  I wish you'd just leave that deadbeat lost.  We're all better off without him.

Hank:  What is she doing here?  All this time, you've been riding me to avoid her, and now you call us into the same meeting?

Gage:  Why would she tell you that?  Why are you answering to a federal agent about anything?

Pocahontas: You had no problem not-avoiding me when you sold me and John our house.

Carol: Cash Nedakh entered the Witness Protection Program.  As part of the deal, he insisted on being put in Barbieville.  You remember receiving flowers at your office for a while?  It was him, unaware that your mother had passed away.  He hoped to reunite with her.

Pocahontas: After leaving us for damn near twenty years?  Not a chance.  Me and Nakoma both would've fought that idea.  We saw what she went through after he took anything that wasn't nailed down.  (She realizes.)  Wait a minute... are you saying what I think you're saying?

Carol:  Hank Higgins is Cash Nedakh.  Not for much longer, though.  Turns out the dam was sabotaged by the very people we were hiding him from.  (To Hank)  You're being moved.

Hank: You can't do that.  You need my testimony for --

Pocahontas:  (Redacted for language.  This is a PG13 blog.)

Carol:  Losing your testimony might hurt the case, but you have proven such a liability that the program is ready to drop you.  This is your last chance.  (She turns to the PI)  Unfortunately, your client is one of the people we're hiding him from.  They followed you here.

Gage:  Oops?

Once she's seen Pocahontas and Gage out, Carol fills Hank in on his new life.  A life far from Barbieville.

Hank:  It's just as well.  There's nothing here for me, with Kida gone.

This concludes my "soap opera".  Maisie (and Charlotte Jackson) will continue their own stories at Our Toy Story on Facebook.  Maisie in "The Sons" and Charlotte in "Nearly Famous".

Please see my previous post titled Changing Things Up.  I've already begun reorganizing and rearranging my doll area, which I'll continue to refer to as Barbieville even though that show's been cancelled.  Stay tuned!

Meetings

KAP  (Kin As Parents) has its first meeting since the disaster, welcoming new members.

Ken:  We don't know what we're going to do.  Peeta's dad pays his tuition, but with Mom and Bonnie gone and having the care of Tommy as well as Ox, I may have to drop out of college.

Pocahontas: I'm always hiring, but during the off season...

Tony:  What's your business?

Pocahontas:  My sister and I own Witch's Cove.  She graduated with Ken and his husband.  I also have custody of a brother the same age as his Tommy and your Marty.  How is Marty?  Any news about his father?

Tony:  Rayshawn might be one of the John Does found, but they aren't ready for identification.  Marty's doing about as well we should expect.  His mother's flying in tomorrow.

Nova:  How are you and Luna holding up?

Gwen:  We're a mess.  Neither of us has even gone into Rallee's room, not even to get her work things for the new superintendent.  Guinness is starting the job without a lot of vital paperwork because I can't...  I don't even know if I should be here.

Midge:  If you need us, you should be here.  I was totally lost when Kamala fell into my lap.

Gwen:  Yeah, but I've been as good as her parent Luna's whole life.  That part isn't a big transition for me.  I thought about grief counseling instead of this, but I know you people.  That makes it better somehow.

Ben:  Maybe we shouldn't tell them.  Seems mean.

Becky:  Yeah, we should wait.

*****
At the mayor's office, Rose-Grace discusses the dam sabotage with federal agent Carol Danvers.

Rose-Grace:  What do you mean, this might not be related to Hank Higgins?  You have other people in my town in Witness Protection?  And that PI is snooping around about Cash.

Carol:  To the best of my knowledge, Hank was the only person here with ties to organized crime.  But then I found out about Maisie Barnes's birth family.  What do you know about them?

Rose-Grace:  Maisie?  Dionne's friend?  She has no contact with her birth family.  Hates all their guts.

Carol:  Possibly with good reason.  I have an even thicker file on them than I do on Hank-used-to-be-Cash.  Maisie isn't even her birth name, she legally changed it when she got married.  Presumably to dodge them and any of their associates.

Rose-Grace:  Well, if you're investigating her, you shouldn't talk to me about it.  Conflict of interest - Maisie's been practically family since junior high.

Carol: We'll move on to the seismologist that tipped off the saboteurs.

Rebuilding Begins

The Barbieville Business Owners Association is focusing on the members impacted worst by the flood.  Mei Chang has lost home, cafe, and husband.  Four Eaton his grandfather/business partner.  Iris Patrick her tailoring business. Whitney Darling's father owned WDLC, was lost in the flood, and she inherited.

Rose-Grace: This may be weird, but we've never been a normal town, have we?  Sulu suggested this meeting and has offered campsites on his property to anyone lost their home.  Most of the losses were homes, some residents are being housed in motels by insurance, but many are not.  If you know of anyone in need, please send them his way.

Dionne:  I can't pay near what you were making from the cafe, but Helena House needs kitchen staff.  Do you think you're up for supervising a bunch of kids as they learn basic cooking skills?  We can also offer room and board.

Mei: You can board all four of us?  We would only need two rooms - one for we girls and a smaller one for Qi - until I find a house. We won't need boarding permanently.

Dionne: Of course.  Now, let's talk about wages and benefits.

Pocahontas:  I was discussing you and Dawn with Tierra, my entertainment head.  We could use you for wardrobe on shows.  Tierra's got a lot of ideas.

Iris: It would just be me.  Dawn's moved on.

Pocahontas: Really?  Well, that's fine.  I really didn't know if I'd have enough work for both of you. We'll order the costumes premade and you'd just have to make alterations and mending.  Doesn't pay much, though.

Iris: Coby makes more than enough to support us.  My shop was more of a hobby.

Four:  I don't know if I can make it without Bapo.  I'm still so new at tattooing professionally.

Whitney:  At least you're trained.  What do I know about running a TV station?

Okoye: I can help you there, Miss Darling.  I'd like to buy you out.

Whitney: Who are you?

Four:  That's Okoye, the media mogul.  You just got your butt saved, my friend.

A man comes in while everyone is conferring.

Tony:  I'm Anthony Lucas, Rayshawn's brother.  I'll be handling matters for his family for now.  (To Rose-Grace) My brother speaks highly of this town and of the lovely mayor.  I just stopped in to introduce myself and let anyone who might be concerned know that Marty is in good hands.

After the meeting, Rose-Grace finds Agent Danvers in the parking lot.

Carol: We need to talk, ASAP, in a secure location.  The sabotage at the dam is way bigger than I thought.

Rose-Grace: Come to my office in the morning.

Sulu notices lights on in the greenhouse shop and investigates.

Sulu:  Mattie?!  What are you doing here?!

Mattie: I came home.  My place is here with my family.

Sulu: Umm... okay.  Can we talk about that hair?

Aftermath

A few days after the earthquake and subsequent flood, Mayor Rose-Grace Pike holds a press conference at the school.

Rose-Grace:  Barbieville is still reeling from our losses.  Everything on the north side of Main Street was destroyed, as well as some structures on the Witch's Cove inlet.  Witch's Cove Amusement Park lost the Overlook event venue and possibly some rides.  The Warehouse district, Lakeshore Townhouses, and Shore Thing cafe are gone.  Many of our families have lost a loved one.  Some of them have lost more than one.

Rose-Grace:  Among the missing or dead are Django Cooper and Kevin Eaton,

Rose-Grace: Dorene and Bonnie Carson,

Rose-Grace: Anna and Elsa North,

Rose-Grace:  Seven Lucas, Genghis Chang, Lara Russo, William Darling, and Rallee Jones.  Owner of The Point, Rayshawn Lucas is missing.  Family friend Tierra Parker has temporarily taken in Marty Lucas, as others all over town have taken in friends and family.

After the press conference, Rose-Grace returns to her crisis post in the mayor's office.  The last thing she needs is more problems.

Carol (coming in):  We've got a problem.  The dam should have withstood the quake - it was tampered with.

Questions Asked

The Private Investigator meets with Albus and Pern in her apartment.  He's trying to gather information on Cash Nedakh, the long absent father of Pocahontas, Nakoma, and Anakin Smith.

Albus:  Sad to say, I was the one who introduced him to Kida. I tried to warn her that he was no good, but she wouldn't believe me until it was too late.  I saw him play his game in towns all across the country when we were working as carnies.

PI: Kida had bought out the carnival, correct?  This was the start of the amusement park that stands today?

Albus: Yes, and she offered us both jobs.  Cash realized she was not only wealthy, but Indian.. sorry, Native American.  He zeroed in on her like I did enemy camps back in the war.   He had a real thing for "squaws" - his word, not mine.

Pern:  My story's pretty much the same as Kida's.  He never married me, though.  I guess you needed a bankroll to get the ring. When I first met the girls, I was shocked that he'd not only married their mother, but stuck around for ten years.  He skipped out on me five minutes after I told him I was pregnant.

PI:  You have not seen or heard from him since?  Neither of you?

Albus: I'm a pacifist, but if I saw him again, I'd probably be in prison right now.  He broke Kida's heart and deserted two children. Weird thing is, he didn't empty the bank accounts on his way out of town.

****
Across town, Federal agent Carol pays a call to the police chief.

Carol: There's a detective sniffing around for Cash Nedakh.

Lynch: I heard a rumor to that effect.  He could have been hired by another scorned mother.  Anakin already came out of the wood work and I really wouldn't be surprised if there are more out there.

Carol: Or he could be working for the people he went into Witness Protection to avoid.  We allowed him to come here only because he refused to help in the case unless we did, and it's a major investigation.

Lynch:  I suppose the people on your end are trying to find out who his client is?

Carol: We are.  But I need you to keep and eye on this detective.  He's already spoken to the Smith sisters and he's got interviews set up all over town.

*****
At Helena House, renovation work has paused while the County Oversight Committee investigates.

Lex:  Let me get this straight.  You, Dionne, are the mayor's niece.  What are your qualifications for this position?

Dionne: I'll be happy to give you a detailed resume.  Most women with my background would laugh at the idea of doing this for the agreed wages, but this has been a pet project of mine and Rose-Grace's since I was in high school.

Maisie:  I was in and out of foster homes all my life.  Dionne talked to her aunt about the problems I was having, hoping to help me since at the time Rose-Grace was working with Children's Services. They bonded over a desire to reshape the foster care system.

Lex:  You're a law student, correct?

Maisie: I'll give you a copy of my resume, as well.  I'm here more as advisor than anything else.

Zenobia: And everything is above-board with my donation of the house.  I made certain of that because I don't want to give my father a leg to stand on when he comes after me for squandering his money.  I asked Mrs. Pike if the town could use the manor for something and she accepted my offer.

*****

Later that evening, Mace sits down with the investigator.

Mace: Rosie was a teenager when she worked for Kida Nedakh.  She joined the military after graduating, to get the college fund, so she wasn't here in town when Cash vanished.  Took leave as soon as she could, though.

PI: Kida considered Rose-Grace her best friend, even though there was a sizable age difference.

Mace:  Rosie felt the same way.  Kida was matron of honor at both Rosie's weddings, but she died before the little twins were born.

PI: Did either you or your daughter know him well?

Mace: No.  We traveled in different circles, as they say, and he gave Rosie the creeps. She avoided him unless Kida was in the same...

Suddenly the entire house shakes.  They can hear glass breaking and the cries of frightened children.

Breaking news: The small town of Barbieville, on the south shore of Muneca Lake, was hit by an earthquake.  The upstream dam gave way and flooded the low-lying areas of town.  Rescue efforts are underway.

Sunday Afternoon

Whitney starts her shift at Sunburst.

Jessie:  Hey, Whitney.  Did Tris tell you my brothers were moving to town?

Whitney: Yes, she did.  She also told me about her parents leaving town.  Good riddance, if you ask me.

Jessie:  They're actually leaving?  I thought that was a ploy to make her feel bad for marrying badly.  Anyway, this is Ebenezer in the orange and Khalil with all the braids.

Ebenezer:  Nice to meet you, ma'am.

Whitney:  Ma'am?  I like you.

Khalil: Hey, little man, don't be macking on all the women before I get the chance.  (To Whitney)  I understand your police chief has a zero tolerance policy for racism.

Whitney:  She doesn't have much tolerance for any bigotry.  If it's actual bigotry and not a misunderstanding.   Like sometimes people are just ignorant but well-intentioned.

Jessie:  Khalil, back off.  You sound like a fanatic. (To Whitney) He starts duty tomorrow, but he's never actually met Lynch.  Phone interviews, e-mails.  When she found out he was a Cooper, she snatched him right up.

Khalil: You'd sound like a fanatic, too, if you'd been turned down for several jobs because your dad's Rom and your mom's black.

Jessie (sarcastically): Like that's never happened to me.  Try being a woman on top of being a black Rom.

Whitney: Well, on that note, I'll let you look over the menu and take care of  my other table.

Whitney goes to the kitchen and brings out the food.

Whitney: Can I get anything else for you?

Carol: No, thank you.

Paige: Mom, we would like to be introduced to the people in this town.  We're going to be working and living here, and we'd like to make friends.  You might like being a hermit, but we don't.

Paige: My sister and I will be working at the medical center.  I'm an optometrist and she's an ophthalmologist.

Ellie: She's Paige, I'm Ellie.  You know our mother?

Whitney: Yes, I know Agent Danvers.  I'm Whitney Darling.  I work here and I'm majoring in Undecided at the local college.

Carol: Whitney's future mother-in-law is the mayor.  And her father owns the local TV station.  (To Whitney)  False modesty doesn't suit you.

Whitney (offended, but polite): I don't define myself through Tanner, his stepmother, or Dad.

Paige (as Whitney walks away):  What the hell was that, Mom?

****

Once the Coopers have ordered and Whitney serves their food, Jessie returns to gossiping with her.

Jessie:  We told Khalil to try getting a job here because, like he said, there's still a lot of bigots in the system.  He's got a stellar resume, but...

Ebenezer:  They keep using his hair as an excuse.  Girl cops don't gotta have short hair, so why should guy cops?

Whitney:  I'm pretty sure BPD's policy is just that it be tidy.  Lynch has longer hair than me and she  just pulls it beck in a ponytail most of the time.  (To Khalil)  But if your hair has religious or cultural significance, they legally can't make you cut it.

Khalil: They legally can't refuse to hire me because of my ethnicity, either, but they sure have been doing it.  Not all of them, but enough of them that I got fed up.

Ebenezer: But then Jessie and Bapo told us this town has a black lady mayor and Khalil decided to send Barbieville a copy of his resume.  Next thing he knows, he's got a job offer!  And since Jessie's roomie moved out, we can live with her and I'll have my own room.

Whitney: I wonder what it's like to have your own room?  I share with my little sister and my daughter.

Take A Stand

Paris Malfoy's trial so far has been a lot of technical jargon, explaining the crime lab's test results and evidence found in the possessions of all three victims and the accused.  Prosecution asks Federal Agent Carol Danvers to summarize.

Carol: Charlie Lake discovered that the accused was involved in bringing immigrants into the country through illegal means and providing them with false documentation.  Shortly thereafter, Ms Lake was struck by the vehicle identified via laboratory testing.  She was killed instantly.  The same vehicle later struck and killed Helena Malfoy.  Candy Pike escaped with serious injuries from a third vehicular attack, capturing video footage of the driver in the process.  The driver has been identified as the accused.

The prosecution rests.

Paris: It's ridiculous that I have to wear this prison jumpsuit.  Why was I not allowed a suit?  This is humiliating.

Judge: Local law, Mr. Malfoy.  Your complaint has been noted.

Andre: Your Honor, distinguished members of the jury, my intent today is not to convince you this man did not do the things of which he was accused.  It is to tell you a sordid history of spousal abuse, which led him to take such desperate means.  (To Paris) We'll begin with the courtship and wedding.  How did you meet your wife?

Paris: We attended university together and shared a history major.  My parents refused their blessing unless Helena signed a prenuptial agreement and she refused to do so unless specific requirements were met.

Andre: What were those requirements?

Paris: In her words: Whoever files for divorce loses everything.  The money, the property, even custody of the children.  She was quite insulted by the idea, believe my parents were calling her a gold digger. I felt it was a mere formality - never would I have expected what was to come.  I was trapped.

Andre: How would you characterize your marriage?

Paris: Pleasant enough, at first.  But after our youngest was born, she became demanding.  She provided very little income but insisted on luxury items like a fleet of cars.  It was her choice to move into The Tor from my family estate.  The Tor has luxuries the manor house doesn't.  She ignored my concerns about the children, even financially supporting our eldest in a hedonistic and immoral lifestyle.  It was Helena who kept Zenobia's van.  When the police found it, it was full of drug paraphernalia, and Helena bribed them to protect Zenobia.

Andre: How did this situation lead you into human trafficking?

Paris: Helena was spending money faster than I could make it.  I tried to get her to increase her own profits from the museum, to charge more for admission or something, but she refused to even consider it.  So I found people, those willing to work for pennies on the dollar, and did what was needed to keep them here.

Andre: Charlie Lake, an employee of Doll County Parks, discovered this.  What did she do?

Paris: She was blackmailing me.  One of the things I did to raise the money was downsize our parking permit at The Tor, leaving us nowhere to store Zenobia's van.  I was taking it beck to her when I came across Charlie jogging.  I meant to give her a good scare, but it went badly and she died.  After that, I had to hide the van.   But I realized:  I was rid of the blackmailer, so why not be rid of Helena the same way?  And then the photographer who'd been snooping around.

Andre: Please state your name and relationship to the accused.

Morgan: I'm Morgan Pike, doctor of paleontology.  I teach at the same college.  I also worked with Helena at the museum and Candy is my former sister-in-law.

Andre: Did you ever observe any tension between the Malfoys?

Morgan: They seemed very formal with each other. Helena did mention that he had been pressuring her to raise admission prices, but that didn't strike me as very unusual.  Couples bicker bout that kind of thing.

Andre:  You say they were formal.  Can you elaborate on that?

Morgan:  If I hadn't known they were married, I would have thought they were colleagues.  They interacted in a business-like manner.

Coby: I'm Jacoby Patrick.  I'm a professor of Gender Studies at the college and I have a exhibit at the museum, much like Morgan Pike.

Andre: What is your assessment of the Malfoy marriage?

Coby: They were quite unhappy.  Neither of them spoke of the other fondly.  Both very strong personalities, with different priorities.  She was a feminist, for example, but he focused on their son to the exclusion of the daughters.  Helena and I discussed that at length since that's my field.

Andre: Did either of them mention divorce?

Coby: Helena did say it was not an option.

Andre: What can you tell me about your parents' marriage?

Zenobia: It was a joke.  The only thing they had in common was a love of history, and they loved it for different reasons.  Both had very high standards for us, but like I said, for different reasons.

Andre: Your chosen lifestyle hardly seems to meet high standards, if you'll forgive me for saying so.

Zenobia: I'm an adult and my lifestyle is hardly the drunken orgy Dad presents it as.

Andre: I beg your pardon.  Did you ever hear them argue about money?

Zenobia: Only when I graduated and Mom wanted to give me my trust fund.  He said I didn't need it if I wasn't going to college.  Mom said it was meant for getting started in life, not just for college.

Andre: Did you get it?

Zenobia: Yes, I did.

Andre: Tell me about your parents' marriage.

Boudicca: They weren't prone to public displays of affection, not even with us, but some families are like that.  Everything seemed fine.

Andre: You never heard discussions about money?

Boudicca: Well, there was the blow-up about Zenobia's trust.  Dad sees the trusts as college money, so it wasn't an issue for me.  I went directly into medical school.

Andre: Your parents supported your choice to pursue such an expensive education?

Boudicca: Well, Dad did try to talk me into nursing.  I figured it was his thing about girls in careers, but it might have been about money.  (looks at Paris) He should have clarified if it was.  We could have worked something out.

Charlotte: My name is Charlotte Jackson.  I have a long history with Helena and I also live in The Tor.

Andre: When did you meet Helena?

Charlotte: We went to school together, Barbieville Public. My family was very poor and so we didn't have much.  My sister and I usually wore old clothes.  Stained and poorly mended, several years out of fashion.  We couldn't go on field trips, things like that, and Helena bullied us relentlessly.

Andre: Can you think of any specific incidents?

Charlotte: Well, it reached its peak in High School.  You see, I had a baby and the father deserted me, but Helena... well, she told it all over school that I didn't even know who his father was.  Another rumor was that Chris was the product of incest.  It was so awful, I had a nervous breakdown.  Helena just used that to torment me more.  I ended up leaving town in shame.

Andre: Terrible.

Charlotte: I returned recently, but you can imagine my feelings when I realized Helena was my neighbor.  I bought a campground as an investment.  Helena's son vandalized the place, even leaving one of my permanent tenants homeless because his camper was totaled. I prosecuted the boy, but Helena pulled strings and got the boy off with just a slap on the wrist.  She's filed complaints about me to The Tor so often, I might lose my lease!

Andre: Is the problem limited to your residence?

Charlotte: She's turned everyone at the country club against me, too.  I try to socialize but they just turn up their noses and walk away.  The boy, he bullies my sister's daughters at school.  No doubt he learned from her.  Helena's daughter works at the hospital where my husband is a patient and I'm afraid she'll do something to Billy.

Andre: Do you find it unreasonable to think Helena drove her husband to desperation?

Charlotte: Absolutely reasonable.  The woman was a menace to anyone she took a dislike to.

From The Past

Gabriella's discovery of a submerged SUV in the waters of Witch's Cove Inlet, the connection to Muneca Lake for the town's many small streams, has brought Lynch and Carol to the park.

Gabriella: I just caught a glimpse of something odd from the corner of my eye.  Had to use my phone's camera and zoom in to tell what it was.  But I didn't take a picture.  I ran back over here to tell Dad.

Lynch: You were on your way to the restroom?

Carol:  I didn't know you could see down into the inlet from this side.

Gabriella: Usually, you can't, but part of the underbrush is all smashed down.  I think that's what I noticed.  I did go back over there, to use the restroom, while we were waiting for you to arrive.  I had to go pretty bad.

Lynch: I'll make a note of that.  (To Carol)  They keep the underbrush thick to keep people from going over the edge, either by accident or on purpose.  Amusement park is an easy swim across from here, if you can get to the water.

Carol: An SUV driving through, especially at speed, would crush the undergrowth.  We should have CSI check for tire tracks from the parking area.

Ryder: Man, Tate, you just keep running into those good looking cop ladies.  If this was a chick flick, it'd be a sure sign of...

Tate: You watch chick flicks?

Ryder: I live with three sisters, two of which are teenagers.   Who do you prefer?  The cop or the fed?

Joe: The cop is happily married with three kids.

Ryder: I guess it's the fed, then.

Joe (rolls his eyes):  And they say women are chatty.  Y'all talk more in an hour than any female employee I've ever had did in a day.

Tate: With my luck, if I find a lady, she'll be buried under 50 years worth of newspapers in my uncle's attic or basement.  (To Joe)  It's all him, man.  I swear.

****

At Windu Acres, Candy catches Pike up on her recent reunion with Dawn Lung.

Pike: I think I remember her now.  The girl I called your little sister?  Her dad got busted for bigamy and her parents both sucked so bad she ended up in the system?

Candy: Right.  When wife number two found out Dawn was going in and out of foster care, she stepped up.  Figured Dawn was her daughter's sister, so they should be together.  Funny she ended up here, too, isn't it?

Pike: That's just how cool Barbieville is.  What's Dawn doing these days?

Candy: She and her sister have a business called Tailoring by Halfsies.

Finnick: Hey, you should see if she can give Taylor a job.  She's recently rediscovered how much she loves sewing.  Has Grammy's machine set up in her room and everything.

Candy: I could ask her.  But I think we should talk to Taylor and Rose-Grace first.

Finnick: Step-Mom just pulled in.  I heard her car.

Rose-Grace (on phone): Excellent.  Keep me updated,  Lynch.  I want this nightmare over.

Pike: Hey, when you're --

Rose-Grace: Honey, you know it take me a while to switch from Mayor Mode.  Do you need Wife Mode or Mom Mode?

Pike: Since it relates to Taylor, definitely Mom Mode.
